COVID-19: What’s happening in mental health care?]
Dear colleagues,
MHPRU survey: Staff perspective on the impact of COVID-19 on mental health care #COVIDMentalHealth
This is to tell you about a national survey aimed at helping understand how the COVID-19 pandemic is impacting on mental health services and the people who use these services, and what is being done to manage these impacts, across all sectors. This is obviously an extremely busy period, but it does seem worth getting data on these practical impacts quickly to inform national and local responses.
The survey is being carried out by the NIHR Mental Health Policy Research Unit (MHPRU) for England, whose core research team is based at University College London (lead Prof Sonia Johnson) and King’s College London (lead Prof Alan Simpson). We will be feeding back immediately after the survey is completed to the Department of Health and Social Care and NHS England, and to other key stakeholders and the public. The survey is intended for people who work in mental health care in the UK in any sector or any specialty, and we are very keen to make sure a wide range are included. The survey should take around 15 minutes to complete and the responses you provide are confidential. You are asked to list your region, but not your organisation. Here is a link to the survey:

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for all your hard work in continuing to provide mental health care during these very challenging times.
Best wishes
