Morning all, we use Lambeth and received tubes from them on time. We are all issued a key worker letter from HR in case we are stopped and queried. There for a definite presence of police cars on roads but no one stopped to check. A note if you have just one person changing all the tubes and it takes longer than three hours, consider splitting them between 2 offficers and you would not want to eat any lunch until you are back to either work or home and washed your hands. This was my observation after yesterday š
Take care

Peter,
This is the guidance (below) that the local authorities have been sent.
Iām currently getting readings between 8 and 14 in Cambridge; this is fine for diffusion tubes in my experience (does anyone happen to know what the Limit of Detection is?)
Iād rather get this monthās swapped over and then leave the next set out for longer if need be.
All the best,
Anita
Diffusion Tube Exposure Dates
Where it is not safe to do so, or if resource needs to be deployed elsewhere, there will be no expectation that local authority officers will expose diffusion tubes in line with the 2020 Diffusion Tube Monitoring Calendar on 1 April 2020 and 29 April 2020. A decision on the June exposure date will be taken and communicated in early May.

I am told that Defra have issued guidance that the tubes do not need to be collected.
I still maintain, that with NO2 levels so low that extending the exposure period may be preferable.

[THIS IS AN EXTERNAL EMAIL]
Hi Anita!
I am told that, even if you collect the tubes, the labs are all closed. My opinion, for what it is worth, is still that with such low NO2 levels that extending the exposure period will be needed to get the sensitivity. If not you may be recording ābelow detectable levelsā .
I have just been looking at an AQY co-location study where we use a regression plot to compare against a reference analyser. Levels are so low that, all we have is a group of points right down at one end so getting a good estimate of gradient is not that easy! Shouldnāt complain though. Little chances of any exceedances right now. London might even comply with EC lomits!

Subject: Diffusion tube collection in lockdown
Morning Everyone,
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on doing diffusion tubes during this period of lockdown? The Defra calendar is scheduled for next week.
I'm hoping that I can do still do them, as it is part of a LA's statutory duties and I should be able complete with adequate social distancing. Does anybody have any different views or are you planning on a different approach? I know tubes will still be accredited between 2 and 6 weeks exposure, so they could be left out for another couple of weeks if necessary and data would still be good to use?
Many thanks
Matt Axton

Best regards
Peter Fleming

Subject: Diffusion tube collection in lockdown
Morning Everyone,
Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are on doing diffusion tubes during this period of lockdown? The Defra calendar is scheduled for next week.
I'm hoping that I can do still do them, as it is part of a LA's statutory duties and I should be able complete with adequate social distancing. Does anybody have any different views or are you planning on a different approach? I know tubes will still be accredited between 2 and 6 weeks exposure, so they could be left out for another couple of weeks if necessary and data would still be good to use?
Many thanks
Matt Axton
