Dear Prof. Friedman,
I understand the lack of precision in my email. You are clearly right, there is an abundance of trustworthy information regarding the science, politics and economic issues regarding Covid19.
I was not referring to that.
I was trying to give my "two cents" to Shujoy's questions regarding specifically to Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). I try to be as informed as my time allows, and I do as much research as I can, so far what I have come across is mostly well-intended makers without proper approach on how to produce safe and under regulations PPE in non industrial settings.
PPE is one of the areas of expertise in the program I teach, even though is not my personal area of expertise I have learn a thing or two (really all common sense for any well trained designer). First of even thinking on drawing a single line designers need to check standards and regulations, and consider all human factors involved. There is the evident need to consult with the experts and the users. It is normally hard to get all this information, in the current times even more.
Yesterday night (Pacific ST), I found the following that regards to Canadian standards and regulations only, I hope it is useful for the community:

This last link is very important because usually standards are only accessed through heavy fees. Due to the current situation CSA is giving free temporary access to those standards in order to support the call for assistance in the production of PPE.
