The Internationally acclaimed Norwegian festival Punkt takes place at BCU on 18th - 20th March. This is a very special collaboration between Punkt, BCU and Punkt's home institution the University of Agdar. Unique concert performances and new partnerships are taking place featuring a stellar line up of musicians from Norway and Birmingham.
The main theme of Punkt is that of the Live Remix. Each concert is recorded and sampled by a second group of musicians, and then immediately presented in response to the original as a new performance. It is a fascinating process, unlike any other festival in the world. The majority of the events take place at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, as well as a panel discussion hosted by BBC Radio 3's Fiona Talkington with Punkt's directors as part of the BCMCR seminar series on Wednesday 18 March, 4-5:30pm in the Curzon Building, City Centre Campus, Room 284.
