Dear Colleagues,
Sustainability in Higher Education - Two Announcements
The European School of Sustainability Science and Research (ESSSR) https://esssr.eu/ and the Inter-University Sustainable Development Research Progamme (IUSDRP) https://www.haw-hamburg.de/en/ftz-nk/programmes/iusdrp.html are pleased to make two announcements:
1. IJSHE - Viewpoint: "Accelerating the Implementation of the SDGs", is now published online
A "Viewpoint" published at the “International Journal of Sustainable Development in Higher Education” pledges for an acceleration of the implementation of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Whereas it is unclear at this point in time if the SDGs will be fully achieved by 2030, it is clear that efforts need to be made, so to reach as many of the SDGs as possible by that time. The food security, health and well-being of billions of people around the world depend on it. The Viewpoint can be seen at:
https://www.haw-hamburg.de/en/ftz-nk/programmes/iusdrp/sharing.html
Members of the academic community who may wish to endorse this viewpoint, may be able to do so by completing an endorsement form available via this link:
www.haw-hamburg.de/en/ftz-nk/programmes/iusdrp/editorial.html. The names and organisations of all colleagues will be displayed at the “International Journal of Sustainable Development in Higher Education” as an annex. This viewpoint can also be quoted in relevant papers on the SDGs.
2. Survey on Sustainable Development at Universities in Latin America
An international study is being currently undertaken by the European School of Sustainability Science and Research (ESSSR) https://esssr.eu/ and the International Sustainable Development Research Programme (IUSDRP) https://www.haw-hamburg.de/ftz-nk/programme/iusdrp.html,
aimed at identifying the extent to which universities in Latin America are pursuing sustainability initiatives and the role these initiatives play in their operations. We would like to invite administrative staff and lecturers engaged with sustainability policies or initiatives in Latin America to
take part on this survey, which takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. All individual answers will be treated with confidentiality, and no personal data is gathered or stored. If you wish to receive a copy of the results, please state so, by using the box at the end of the questionnaire.
Here is the link for the survey: https://forms.gle/7YGhUC8q232NMspr6
Thank you for your contribution.
