I noticed this one the other day - I imagine there's lots of them popping up all over the place.

Thanks for the link for PHE collection point. My concern was (feels like months ago) ?2 weeks ago..
Terminology of "poct" was being used for any method that didnt require DNA extraction.
And I wanted to get a better handle on the igm and igg kits myself incase I was asked for advice on it.
I hope the PHE will give us guidance and will have done evaluations.
I am absolutely aligned with the national picture on not to use these tests until the national strategy inform us on the best use and that there is supply chain for it to be maintained.
Thanks
Katy

Hi,
Thanks Katy that is a huge piece of work. I believe there are a number of companies currently applying through the process in the link below and hopefully PHE will give some good advice based upon the evaluations in this guidance and companies that are selected to fit the criteria. Hopefully we might then know which kits would be best to look at particularly in the case of the IgG/IgM kits

Great Scott!! That just saved me a big chunk of work, thanks Katy.
I'll use this to inform our review bearing in mind the questions I have posed. I appreciate that information can be sketchy on websites so I am hoping manufacturers, suppliers and distibutors will be able to rapidly supply this info. If not it may tell you something about the performance characteristics of their solution!

Dear Mailbase,
I phoned a friend... Kerry Whiting, previous Consultant Biochemist and POCT Speciality lead has put this together for me.
Spreadsheet of antibody tests... rapidly changing field. This is our opinion - manufacturers can argue or submit corrections.
But it is a start.
Welcome all other suggestions.

Waiting for availability of reagents.

Subject: POCT COVID-19 testing kits
Hi All
I am interested in how POCT can support the effort to test patients, staff and the public for COVID-19 infection. I am looking to collate information as follows:
- Supplier
- Test methodology
- Sample type
- Sensitivity and Specificity
- Review of validation data
- When to test to avoid false negatives
- Duration of test
- Lead time
- Automated reader compatibility
For starters anyway, so that an infromed choice on whether to adopt any POCT solution can be made.
I have been picking up information from multiple sources. It would be good if we could share and collate this. If any suppliers are on this mailbase please share.
Regards
Tony Cambridge
