Please take note that at the moment nasal/throat PCR testing for COVID-19 is a category 2 process requiring a safety cabinet.

Hi Katy
There aren't any POCT tests with acceptable sensitivity and specificity for Covid-19. The tests currently available will require confirmatory lab tests too. Below are few examples.
https://mologic.co.uk/mologic-awarded-c-1-million-by-uk-government-to-develop-rapid-diagnostic-test-for-covid-19/
https://www.surescreen.com/
https://www.biomedomics.com/products/infectious-disease/covid-19-rt/
I'm aware of another test that has been developed with better S&S than the above and is awaiting PHE approval for validation/testing.

Have been asked to work through a proposal for POCT Covid testing.
Am trawling through this currently
https://www.finddx.org/covid-19/
Anyone with any experience of any of the methods already available or in development but on platform already out there: be great to share!
It seems their definition of POCT instrument is = no manual extraction and small instrument. As there is a number I would not consider POCT worthy.

No.... we are lab only at the moment.
The trust considered POCT but chose the lab route instead.
Interested to see an example of the alternative approach.
