Dear SPMers,
A PhD position is immediately available at the Department of Psychiatry,
Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics at the RWTH Aachen University Hospital
(https://www.ukaachen.de/kliniken-institute/klinik-fuer-psychiatrie-psychotherapie-und-psychosomatik/forschung/neuropsychologie.html).
The position is funded for three years and compensation will be
according to TV-L 13 65%.
We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with strong interest in
neuroimaging research. The successful candidate has obtained MSc (or
equivalent degree graduates) in Medicine, Neuroscience,
Engineering/physics, Psychology, or a closely related field. The
candidate will develop and conduct EEG-fMRI experiments. One significant
focus will be on how brain structures and functions are involved in
central processing of sensory input in patients with pain disorders due
to neuronal sodium channel mutations.
The candidate will closely work together with an interdisciplinary team
of pain researchers within the IZKF funded consortium “Sodium
channel‐related pain disorders: From molecular mechanisms towards
personalized treatment”. This highly translational, multi-group research
consortium aims to study the molecular basis for pain perception with
focus on the voltage-gated sodium channel from its structure (computer
modelling, biochemistry), biophysical gating (patch clamp), cellular
effects (iPS-cell derived sensory neurons, mouse model), genetics and
clinical pictures to central effects (EEG/fMRI).
A complete application will include a statement of interest and CV.
Please submit applications to Dr. Thilo Kellermann
([log in to unmask]). We thank all applicants but only those
selected for an interview will be contacted.
