The Germanic Society for Forensic Linguistics (GSFL) is pleased to announce its second call for papers for its 8th annual conference to be held from July 30, 2020 thru August 2, 2020 in Utrecht, the Netherlands. This year’s conference is being held in conjunction with the University College Utrecht. Invited topics for paper and poster abstracts include but are not limited to the following areas: FORENSIC LINGUISTICS; FORENSIC SPEECH SCIENCES (FSS); LANGUAGE AND LAW; TRANSLATION AND INTERPRETATION; FL/FSS AND EDUCATION. All interested authors are requested to submit a 250-word abstract by March 15, 2020 using the following link: <https://nick662.typeform.com/to/aAIZXW>. Alternatively, abstracts may be submitted directly to Dr. I. M. Nick <[log in to unmask]>. Please be sure to include the code "GSFL2020" in the subject line of your email.

Abstract submissions may examine any language but preference will be given to those investigating a Germanic language (i.e. English, German, Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, Dutch, Afrikaans, Icelandic, Frisian, Yiddish, etc.). Submissions must be in either English, German, or Danish. After the deadline, all abstracts will be submitted to blind review by a team of experts. To encourage continuing interest in FL and FSS, students are also warmly encouraged to attend the Emerging Scholars’ Day on July 30, 2020.
