Dear Allstatters,
MSC Training is pleased to announce that places are available for booking on this 2 day course in the beautiful city of Bath by following this link.
Turn your surveys & trials into insight with sampling & hypothesis testing (2 Days<https://marriott-stats.com/product/turn-surveys-trials-into-insight-with-sampling-hypothesis-testing-march-2020/>), Wednesday 4th & Thursday 5th March, £695+VAT
This course is designed to help all researchers in all fields extract the maximum out of their trials and surveys and is a must-have course for those who need to be fully conversant with key statistical tools before undertaking a trial or survey.
Over the 2 days, we will take you through the following topics using case studies based on real life data.
Day 1 -Key principles of sampling & measuring data, how to estimate sample size, choose a sampling method and calculate and interpret confidence intervals.
1. The Survey Wheel and the key ideas of sampling & measuring
2. What are sampling methods and how to choose the right one?
3. How to calculate & interpret confidence intervals when comparing a single sample to a benchmark.
4. How to calculate & interpret confidence intervals when comparing two samples.
5. How to estimate the required sample size using Power Curves and Capability Analysis.
Day 2 - What the terminology of hypothesis testing means, how to specify goals & objectives for your analysis, how to turn these into specific hypotheses to be tested and then how to interpret the results and draw conclusions.
1. What are variables, factors & levels?
2. Why are null & alternative hypotheses important?
3. What are P-values and how do we interpret them?
4. What are statistical tests (T-tests, F-tests, ANOVA, Chi-squared & Binomial tests) and how do we use them?
5. What is the difference between a good and bad trial?
This course can also be run in-house on your premises. Click here to find out more<https://marriott-stats.com/training/>.
