Hi Theresa
We have developed a new process to handle these samples rapidly in the lab. This involves being made aware of the potential for a sample to be required from the theatre staff. We ensure the analyser and assay are ready and in use. Seems to have worked well and there are no issues being raised by the clinical teams. We are considering using a different test code for this test so we can easily monitor its requesting, rather than trawl through normal PTH requests to identify them. We have performance software that also shows TATs from collection and also receipt.
No current need for POCT solutions as a result.

Subject: Intra-operative PTH
Hi All,
We have been asked about providing POCT for intra-operative PTH. Can I ask if anybody uses this at present?
Thanks,
Theresa
