Thanks all-this is certainly enlightened me! I had no idea HSE states it had to be a doctor who diagnosed. Will speak to the business and advise accordingly.
Much appreciated

This can often be a difficult call, and it is likely that the more experience and qualifications of the OH professional making it, the more likely HSE are to accept it.

I’ve advised HR that GP cannot provide evidence to support his opinion that it’s work related and in fact a Specialist Occupational MSK physio has clearly stated in their report it’s not work related so I’ve advised them to go with that. We are a nurse/physio led service with no OHP. I feel the physio report is enough in this case. They are concerned that they still need to report it as RIDDOR and let HSE decide!

GP stated 'RSI@ On completing her workstation assessment she advised that she played in a darts team and practised daily. Ergo elbow getting no rest. GP had not asked about out of work activities. Had similar with people who knit/crochet every day. And with Audiometry, GP stating work related hearing loss, on questioning, minimal noise exposure at work, but worked as a part time DJ at weekends.

My thinking is not due to the Physio advice but thought I’d ask?? I’m not directly involved but interested to know your opinions.
