INTO University of Exeter is currently seeking an External Assessor for a new International Year One in Biosciences programme. This is a one-year, 120 credit programme at RQF Level 4. This is a programme for international students, who take 30 credits of English for Specific Academic Purposes and 90 credits of Biosciences modules. If successful, at the end of the programme students progress onto year 2 or their chosen Biosciences degree.The External Assessor is responsible for reviewing the programme specification and other associated materials and feeding back via a template. The criteria for External Assessor role are as follows:
The External Assessor holds academic/professional qualifications, appropriate in level and subject, to appraise the programme in hand. Typically, this will mean a PhD.
The External Assessor has experience of at least one of the following: developing a new programme in a relevant area; directing an existing programme in a relevant area; acting as the External Assessor/Examiner for another programme in a relevant area.
The External Assessor meets any criteria set out by Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) who will be accrediting the programme.
The External Assessor is not engaged in a current financial, familial or collaborative relationship with any individual who is involved in the development or delivery of the programme.
The External Assessor is not registered for an award of the University of Exeter.
The External Assessor has not been employed by the University of Exeter within the last five years (in this context service as an External Examiner on a different programme does not count as employment).
