I took the approach of entering all the unique student home postcodes into the above tool and that created CSVs that I used to build an import to our student records system where we have a table for postcodes with space for such extras as IMD and POLAR, that data though is probably not much use to anyone but myself here at Uni Beds as our catchment is very local.

But the methodology I employed was to extract the unique postcodes from the student record using SQL and then run it through the above, starting with the postcodes of students in the current AY and then working back through the years, Now Ii just run a check and update after each recruitment point through the year to keep it up to date.

Doing it for every postcode would be a mammoth task - there are over 1 million unique post codes in the country!
