I would like to announce that The Lisa Jardine Grant scheme of the Royal Society is currently open to applications. Grants are available to PhD students and early career researchers in history of science, and other interdisciplinary studies combining humanities and the natural sciences.
The scheme offers funding for:
• Extended research trips for UK and overseas-based researchers to use the Royal Society’s own rich historical collections (up to £8,000 available for travel and subsistence costs depending on destination and length of research, 1 - 3 months (£2,000 international travel, £2,000/month subsistence)).
• International travel and expenses for UK based students to carry out short, exploratory archival research trips (up to £2,000 available for trips up to 1 month)
• International travel and expenses for UK based students to attend conferences and networking or training events (up to £2,000 available for trips up to 1 month)
This round, funding is available for research taking place between June 2020 and November 2020.
The deadline for applications is 26 March 2020.
The award panel will meet on 23 April 2020 and applicants will be notified of the outcome shortly after.
A further round will open in June 2020 accepting applications for research to take place between Dec 2020 and May 2021.
