Dear all,
*CfP deadline extended*
*[Please note that the deadline has been extended to 20 January 2020.]*
On behalf of the African Studies Group (ASG) at the University of
Melbourne, we are delighted to inform you that we are organising our
inaugural conference on Borders, Belonging and Identity, which is scheduled
to take place between 12-14 March, 2020.
Considering your interest and research on African studies, we would be
happy to invite you to submit an abstract of your ongoing activities, to
participate in the conference.
The conference is organised around the following aims and objectives:
1.
The Concept of Home: What and where is home? Where, when and how do we
feel a sense of ‘belonging’?
2.
Relevance of Borders: How do borders permeate our social lives?
3.
Digital Transformation: How have digital communication platforms
transformed the concepts and experiences of borders, identity and
belonging?
4.
Multiculturalism and Integration: What are the experiences and prospects
of multiculturalism increasing our sense of belonging and social
integration?
Further details on the conference, including on how to express interest to
participate, can be found in the attached document.
We are keen to engage with some of your work that intersects with our theme
and we look forward to hearing from you!
Kind regards,
--
