JOB: Reminder - Data Linkage Specialist - Institute of Cancer Research - Deadline 19 January 2020
The Institute of Cancer Research, one of the world's leading cancer research centres, is looking for a statistician to join the Clinical Trials and Statistics Unit (ICR-CTSU) at its Sutton site in Surrey.
The successful applicant will have a varied role working on a number of projects to integrate routinely collected and patient reported outcomes into clinical trial datasets for analysis. In addition there will be opportunities to work on statistical development and analysis exploring alternative methods of data collection (e.g. using electronic data capture for quality of life outcomes) and working with teams such as the ICR Knowledge Hub to explore how use of technology and 'Big Data' can increase the output from trials.
The successful applicant will have a post-graduate qualification in statistics or a first degree in statistics and practical experience in medical statistics, a sound understanding of randomised controlled trials and experience with survival analysis methods and applying statistical methods to real data. Good communication skills, including excellent written and spoken English, are essential to liaise with multi-disciplinary team members across multiple studies. You should also be happy to work individually as well as part of a wider team. In addition, working knowledge of statistical software (e.g. Stata, R) is required.
Appointment will be on a fixed term contract for 2 years in the first instance, with the potential for renewal thereafter.
