Hi folks,
Last year in Scotland we had a very successful series of events. Coordinated by Environmental Protection Scotland who hope to again coordinate Clean Air Day on Thursday June 18th 2020. Schools engagement around air quality, active travel and no idling are absolutely vital to the campaign. For updates follow us on Twitter @EPScotland, Facebook & LinkedIn and go onto www.ep-scotland.org.uk (archive: https://www.ep-scotland.org.uk/news/eps-launches-clean-air-day-2019/ ) was really successful and lots of great work locally.
Best wishes
Andrew

Hi Donald,
The learning resources that have been developed by the University of the West of England as part of the ClairCity project might be of interest to help engage schools and the children with air pollution issues. They can be found here: http://www.claircity.eu/take-action/schools/ and also here https://www.sustainablelearning.com/teaching-resources/ClairCity. We are working on a schools pack to put all the information and learning material in one place, this will be ready in March so if you are interested I can let you know when this is ready.
We've started some work in Bristol on idling and School Streets which might be of interest over the longer term rather than just for CAD https://www.bristolcivicsociety.org.uk/idling-action-and-school-streets/
You might also find some useful resources on the Global Action Plan website here https://www.cleanairday.org.uk/forms/clean-air-day-resources
Hope this is useful.
Best regards,
Andy Edwards

Good morning, every June we say to ourselves, 'we should have done something to involve schools in Clean Air Day this year'. A prompt from an elected member has reminded me. Has anyone prepared any promotional material to send out to schools, inviting greater involvement in raising awareness of air pollution, particularly on streets near primary schools? Kids can be great at guilting their significant adults into behavioural change. If not, I will start work on something and share here. Do let me know. Cheers, Don.
