We have the support workers (reader/scribe etc.) 1-2-1 with candidates and have never had an issue.
Our Learning Success Team recruit and run specialist training with them for the reading/scribing and we run part of the session to advise the general invigilation and paperwork requirements.
There are the normal precautions as per standard invigilators for lateness and contingency planning.

Dear all
Would you mind answering two questions for me please?
- For students who have the use of a reader and/or scribe in their exams, do you routinely have one person undertake the roles Invigilator/reader/scribe (i.e. so the student has just one other person in the room with them)?
- If yes, have you encountered any problems with this approach such as poor time keeping by the Invigilator/reader/scribe?
I'm happy to share responses in due course.
Thank you as always, Jean
