I heard a ESnet representative last year stating exactly what Duncan
wrote: DoD data centers with 100+ Gbps links (for example) will have to
prove corresponding throughputs using Perfsonar hosts. Tim Chown will
know if that became a policy.
Also STFC is plugging Perfsonar to routers in several sites. Will they
(as funding thing) demand that GridPP do the same? I don't know
anything about that, but the specs being discussed contemplate that.
Maybe inside GridPP the view will be that we should target 10G rates?
