Dear all,

Bloomsbury Digital Resources is delighted to announce that Screen Studies, our digital platform for moving image studies, now offers digitised, searchable access to an acclaimed body of content from the BFI Publishing list.

Content is divided into two dedicated collections available for separate purchase via institutional subscription or perpetual access - BFI Film Classics and BFI Film Studies.

We hope that the launch of these collections could be useful and of interest to SISIG members.

-----------------------------

BFI Film Classics

This modular collection comprises titles from the award-winning BFI Film Classics book series which introduces, interprets and celebrates landmarks of world cinema from the silent era to the 21st century. Films covered include 'Vertigo', 'Metropolis', 'La Jetée', 'Blade Runner', and 'Pan's Labyrinth'.

Titles within the collection offer:
1. Argument for the film’s ‘classic’ status
2. Discussion of its production and reception history
3. Examination of its place within a genre or national cinema
4. An account of its technical and aesthetic importance
5. A personal response to the film from the author(s)

BFI Film Studies

This modular collection brings together a rich body of titles from BFI Publishing’s pre-eminent and foundational list of books on film history, theory, national cinemas, genres, film-makers, and stars.

It includes titles published in the 'BFI Screen Guides', 'World Directors', 'Film Stars', 'BFI Silver' and 'International Screen Industries' series, as well as essential companions to film studies such as Pam Cook’s 'The Cinema Book'.

30-day institutional trials are available for free on request via the Screen Studies website (http://www.screenstudies.com/) or you can email me directly ([log in to unmask]), if you have any questions or would be interested in taking a closer look at the full site.

Best wishes,
