I can't tell you much about Emanuel van Meteren, but I can recommend Van Dorsten's Poets, Patrons, and Professors as one good place to go looking for information. Rob

Does any Sidneian know much about this person, who wrote a discourse on Philip Sidney’s death? It was translated by Thomas Churchyard and Richard Robinson, and published in 1602 as A True Discourse Historical. How close might Van Meteren have been to Sidney, especially in 1586?
Grateful for any relevant facts and sources.
Penny
