A fully funded PhD position at the University Birmingham (jointly at
the Centre for Human Brain Health and the Centre for Computational
Biology) is available for next academic year, start October 2020. The
position is funded via Midlands Integrative Biosciences Training
Partnership 2020 (MIBTP2020), a BBSRC-funded doctoral training
programme. The project will be jointly supervised by Dr Magda
Chechlacz, Dr Peter Hansen (Centre for Human Brain Health) and Prof
Georgios Gkoutos (Centre for Computational Biology). The studentship
is available to UK/EU nationals ONLY.
The successful candidate will engage in specialist training and
multidisciplinary research combining cutting-edge methods at the
intersection of cognitive neuroscience and computational biology. The
student will acquire new skills in advanced statistical and machine
learning analyses, as well as brain connectivity and genetic analyses.
The PhD project will explore heritability of cognitive ageing by
linking genetic variance affecting neuromodulation to inter-individual
differences in network connectivity.
Full information about the PhD project is available from the link below:
