Cumbria Archive Service is recruiting a Senior Conservator to lead its Conservation and Digitisation Units.
Based in a modern, well-equipped Conservation Studio, you will be responsible for the preservation and conservation treatment of the collections in all four archive centres in Cumbria, and the delivery of digitisation programmes to support research access and income generation.
You will need a recognised professional qualification in archive conservation and substantial post qualification conservation experience. Accreditation with ICON or ARA is preferable. Knowledge of appropriate conservation standards, disaster planning, digital preservation policies and the technical production of digital images are essential. Leading and motivating staff and volunteers is a key feature of this role, and appropriate experience and skills will be required.
We can offer an interesting and challenging opportunity to preserve a significant cultural collection and help develop one of the largest archive services in the country.
