italian-studies: Scholarly discussions in any field of Italian studies
Dear Colleagues,
Thursday 12 December will be the 50th anniversary of the Piazza Fontana
bombing in Milan.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piazza_Fontana_bombing
The forces of the right planted a bomb that killed 17 people and wounded 88.
Their hope was to pin the blame onto the communists.
An innocent anarchist railway worker, Giuseppe Pinelli, was arrested and
accused of the bombing. During interrogation he fell to his death from an
upper window of the police station in Milan.
As older list members will recall, the case was highlighted in a memorable
farce by Dario Fo - Morte accidentale di un'anarchico - Accidental Death of
an Anarchist.
QUESTION: Are you in London? Would you like to do an unrehearsed reading of
the play on Thursday 12 December? If so, write and let me know, and we shall
put something together.
You will find a translation of the play (mine) here:

With best regards,
Ed Emery
