Hi,
I'm running into a weird problem that is probably me not properly
understanding some syntax. Hopefully someone on this list can easily
help! I am trying to run the chpix command (in kappa). As a test, I am
trying to change the pixel value of a single pixel in the bottom left
corner of the image. The test image I am using is a normal sdf file
that's been used for other things (i.e., should not have any oddities in
the header, etc). Here's the command that I'm trying to run:
> chpix in=test.sdf out=test2.sdf section="1,1" newval=1 comp=Data
and here is the error message that I get back:
!! SUBPAR: Bad preset value for parameter IN
! SUBPAR: A name is required
! Unable to associate a group of NDFs with parameter IN.
! CHPIX: Unable to change array values in an NDF.
! Application exit status SUBPAR__NAMIN, invalid HDS object name
! in=test.sdf out=test2.sdf section=1,1 newval=1 comp=Data
I get the same error message on two different machines - one is running
star-2016A and the other is running star-2018A. And yes, I have made
sure that test.sdf does exist in the directory that I'm running the
command in, and other parts of Starlink (e.g., gaia) interact with it
normally.
thanks for any insights anyone has!
Helen
