SCALE AND STRING: SCIENCE, PLACE AND HISTORY
Is science local, global or universal? Are these qualities contradictory or can they be combined? What differentiates a local, national, global or universal history? Do they have different objects, approaches, sources or techniques? Are histories of science distinct to other local or global histories?
