We invite you to submit work to the PARTICIPATORY DESIGN paper session at the Human-Computer Interaction International conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, 19-24 July 2020 (http://2020.hci.international/). This session is part of the conference’s thematic area Design, User Experience and Usability (DUXU).

We are looking for research results, case studies, examples of best practice as well as failures, from a broad variety of fields. Topics include but are not limited to:
- novel participatory design methods in a connected world
- challenges encountered during participatory design and how they can be overcome
- methods to elicit user needs, preferences and creativity
- scalability and inclusion in participatory design
- crowd-sourced participatory design
- maximising team coherence and collaboration
- the use of prototypes and descriptive artefacts in the design process
- shifting power and privilege from the design team to stakeholders
- enabling participation of disadvantaged, disparate or disabled user groups
- designing for sensory needs
- training and educating the next generation of participatory designers
