ART SCHOOL GALLERY? A site for radical and experimental exhibitionary practice?
SYMPOSIUM - 23rd November 9:30 – 16:00 ME002, Theatre Studio 1, Media Factory, University of Central Lancashire
Hanover Project invites you to attend our free symposium on the 23rd of November 2019 at the University of Central Lancashire.
This symposium appraises the function of art school galleries within contemporary universities. We ask what opportunities art school galleries offer for the development of radical and experimental exhibitionary models in relation to the contemporary university’s audit culture and against the backdrop of an increasingly contested public sector.
Speakers - Andrew Hunt (MMU), Poppy Bowers (Whitworth), Zoe Watson (MMU), Dean Hughes (Northumbria), Anne Kelly (NCAD), Faye Spencer (UCLan), Andy Broadey (UCLan), David Mackintosh (UCLan)
Hanover Project is a contemporary art gallery in Hanover Building at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan). The space, run by a steering group comprising Fine Art lecturers and students, is open to members of the public, staff and students from 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.
