Senior Fiscal Analyst, The Office for Budget Responsibility, London
Do you have financial analysis experience and are looking for a new opportunity in a high-profile role? If so, we'd love to hear from you!
The Office for Budget Responsibility (OBR) was established by the Chancellor in May 2010 to provide independent assessments of the economy, public finances, and fiscal sustainability. We provide independent forecasts of the economy and public finances to inform the Government's fiscal policy decisions, examine the impact of the Government's policy decisions on the public finances, and assess the prospects for achieving the Government's fiscal targets and welfare cap.
We are recruiting for a senior fiscal analyst to lead on the OBR’s devolved work programme and to support the scrutiny and certification of the Government’s costings of new policy measures. This high-profile post can be moulded to suit the skills and interests of the successful candidate.
Our ideal candidate will have an economics, statistics or other quantitative analysis qualification (undergraduate degree or above) or demonstrable proof of skills acquired in post. Additionally, we'd love strong stakeholder management skills, the ability to analyse and interpret data and explain your findings in an accessible manner, as well as the ability to work flexibly across several competing projects, and to deliver high-quality work to deadline.
