This new post provides an exciting opportunity for a research statistician who may be in the early stages of their career, or someone seeking a part-time role / flexible working opportunity. The combination of being a key member of a research project team and exposure to a variety of other research studies via the consultancy service will give the successful applicant wide-ranging experience.
The post-holder will be responsible for conducting statistical analyses of data from a research study exploring the impact of complications of paediatric surgery, parental stress and anxiety on later child development and behaviour in a UK cohort of infants who have undergone cardiac surgery. They will also work with the Statistical Support Service (SSS) providing one-to-one consultancy advice to other research staff utilising some of the wealth of interesting studies undertaken within the Institute of Child Health and Great Ormond Street Hospital.
This post is funded for 1 year.
The postholder must have an MSc and/or BSc in Statistics and have some applied health research experience using a variety of statistical methods. The successful candidate will be expected to work independently and as part of a team and full supervision will be available.
