Final reminder: The Merseyside local group of the Royal Statistical Society (RSS) is looking for volunteers to join the committee for 2020.
We are seeking volunteers based in the area to join the local group committee as normal committee members, to oversee the planning and delivery of a programme of events. For the 2020 committee, we particularly welcome applications from early career academics or industry statisticians from different disciplinary backgrounds.
The committee organises 3-4 events a year to actively engage the local statistical community and anyone with an interest in statistics. We aim to share statistical expertise with local organisations and industries and communicate the value of statistics to school pupils and students. Recent examples include an event on research at Chester Zoo, Mental Health Statistics and Risk. A list of events can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/rssmerseyside/research-meetings
If you wish to express interest or discuss joining the committee, contact Anna Fowler or Maria Sudell at [log in to unmask] by 9.00 Monday 11th November 2019, with a paragraph (no more than 200 words) summarising your background and why you would like to join the committee.
Please note that to take up a position you will need to be a fellow of the RSS.
The RSS is committed to ensuring an inclusive and welcoming environment for all who care about good data and statistics.
