Dear Verdi,
Could you give us more detail about the setup? Which operating systems
are used on the desktop and the server? Is it using NFS, SMB, ...? Would
you have access to any log on the server file system?
There was a different but somewhat related post on the list some time ago:

and the issue was due to settings of the file system.
