Research Fellow (Older people: care and self-funding experiences) (0.4 full-time equivalent for 6 months)

This is an opportunity to join a Wellcome Trust research study in the School of Applied Social Science. The study Ethical issues in self-funded care: co-producing knowledge with older people, is a collaboration between University of Brighton, University of Birmingham and University of Lincoln, led by Dr Lizzie Ward, University of Brighton. This post will focus on the evaluation of the co-production element of the project and you will have advanced knowledge and skills in qualitative research methods, experience of participatory research and evaluation.
You will have a PhD, ideally within a social science or health science related-field, or equivalent professional experience. You will need to have sensitive and effective interpersonal skills, be able to communicate well with a wide range of stakeholders (including older people), and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. You will be based in Brighton, working with Dr Lizzie Ward, but will work as part of the three-site project team and will also need to work in the Solihull and Lincoln sites, staying overnight, to meet the demands of the study. Previous research experience in social care, ageing and co-production is desirable.
The post is 0.4 fixed term for 6 months and the anticipated start date is 2nd January 2020.
