Thanks for your message. The bit that caught my attention was " These figures assume the research activity generating the information for the writing is under a separate time and motion count." I can type out a paper in about five days (during which time I do other duties too) when I have the information. That bit can be slow and is often hampered by the same unavoidable distractions all humans face in the world of work. I don´t think it´s realistic to assume a week per paper if every paper has to have research leading up to. Thus I feel much of that time/effort study you cited is missing an important element of the time demands involved in writing.
