Dear Colleagues,
We invite you to present a poster or simply attend the 3rd Triennial Workshop on Advances in Directional Statistics due to take place in the beautiful historic city of Santiago de Compostela, Spain, from 15th-17th June, 2020.
The previous two editions of the workshop took place in Brussels and Rome in 2014 and 2017, respectively. As for them, the main objectives of the workshop are to stimulate research in Directional Statistics, bring together researchers in the field to share their latest results, identify interesting new problems and applications, and foster dialogue and future research collaborations. This latest edition of the workshop will also be a celebration of Kanti Mardia’s 85th birthday.
The workshop will consist of 30 twenty-minute talks together with poster-viewing and poster-storming sessions, with the total number of participants limited to around 60.
Confimed speakers include:
Prof. Kanti Mardia (University of Leeds, England)
Prof. Peter Jupp (University of St Andrews, Scotland)
Prof. John Kent (University of Leeds, England)
Prof. Stephan Huckemann (University of Göttingen, Germany)
Prof. Kunio Shimizu (Institute for Statistical Mathematics, Japan)
Prof. Andrew Wood (University of Nottingham, England)
The “Kanti Mardia ADISTA20 Prize” will be awarded to the best poster presented by a PhD Student.
An up-to-date list of confirmed participants together with full details of the workshop are available at: http://eio.usc.es/pub/adista20/index.php.
