Dear recipient of allstat,
I am writing to let you know about two exciting things
that are happening at the University of Bristol this November.
(1) the event "Women and Non-Binary People in Mathematics"
that I thought might be of interest to you and your eligible students.
There are two parts to this event:
(i) The first part (starts 5 Nov 4pm, ends 6 Nov 12pm) is
for women and non-binary people in the UK and Ireland only.
(ii) The second part (starts 6 Nov 12pm, ends 5pm) is
open to all students.
The deadline for registration is 31 October 2019.
A small amount of financial support is available to cover attendees
travel expenses.
Relevant information (e.g., how to apply) is available from the
following website:
https://www.bristolmathsresearch.org/meeting/women-in-mathematics-opportunities-for-the-future-2019/
(2) Our EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Computational Statistics
and Data Science (COMPASS) has started accepting applications for the
2020/21 cohort. We are planning to review the first batch of
applications shortly and we wanted to let you know in time to avoid that
anyone who might be interested misses the opportunity to apply. If you
know of any of your students that might be interested, could you please
let them know the link to our website?

Needless to say, we are happy to answer any questions.

Thank you very much and best wishes,
Tobias.
