The HK PhD Fellowship is a prestigious award established by the Research Grants Council (RGC) of the HKSAR Government. It aims to attract the best and brightest students in the world to pursue studies in research degree programmes at Hong Kong's institutions. Students who have graduated or are graduating with a Bachelor's or Master's degree with good academic records and experience are welcome to apply.
The Fellowship awardee will receive:
• a monthly stipend of HK$25,100 (approximately US$3,200 a month)
• a conference and research related travel allowance of HK$12,600 (approximately US$1,600) per year
• CYCSGS Entrance Scholarships (around HK$77,496, approximately US $10,000) to cover the student's tuition and on-campus hostel accommodation fees during the first year of studies.

The Systems Engineering and Engineering Management (SEEM) Department has many faculty members who are world-leaders in their respective research areas. Research in systems engineering is conducted in areas such as industrial statistics, reliability, risk analysis, data mining, operations research, manufacturing systems, logistics and supply chains and human factor engineering. Research in engineering management is conducted in areas such as innovation, entrepreneurship, project management, operations management, quality management and engineering asset management.

How to Apply to CityU?
• Applications to the Fellowship Scheme are invited from 1 September 2019 - 2 December 2019 (by 12 noon Hong Kong time).
• Applicants are required to submit online applications to both Research Grants Council (RGC) and CityU.
RGC’s deadline: 2 December 2019 (by 12 noon Hong Kong Time)
Step 1 Applicants should first submit an initial application at the RGC's Online Application System (OAS) (www.rgc.edu.hk/hkphd) to obtain a RGC reference number.
Step 2 Applicants are then required to submit full application, together with supporting documents, to CityU's Online Admission System at www.cityu.edu.hk/sgs/oas , and quote the RGC reference number.
