Hi
Is it definitely particulates you want to monitor? If not, and just general Air Quality education in a former life I've done various things in schools -
- Short term NO2 monitoring using diffusion tubes (expose for a week at a time get the kids to monitor weather etc in that week). Could use this perhaps to monitor outside the school (in the drop off areas) during term time and then in the holidays and show the improvement the lack of a school run makes!
- Get the kids to gather leaves off trees near to a busy road, and others treas away from a road. Use wet cotton buds to wipe the leaves and see the 'soot' on the roadside leaves.
Just some thoughts.
Good luck!
