Dear Colleagues,
After a brief break from 'ownership', I would like to introduce, and say a quick 'hello', from the UEL CELT (Centre for Excellence in Learning and Teaching) team. The two principle owners for this thread are Tracy Part and Santanu Vasant and we both really value the exchanges that have taken place in this discussion forum since 2013 and wanted to keep the richness of the discussions and the tradition going.
We were hoping that with member permission, we could slightly widen the scope of the mailing list so that as STEM 'experts' we can further collaborate with partners across the disciplines. We here hoping to ask our friends at jisc to change our banner.
It currently stands at
"A JISC email list for Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths academics. Do you want to replace lectures with more interactive teaching? What role does student owned technology play here? Interested? Subscribe now, we welcome academics from other disciplines too"
and to start the discussion, we were thinking of something like
"A JISC email list for academics interested in exploring the positive impact of active learning on student experience. Do you want to include more interactive technology in your teaching? Do plan to extend critical thinking and problem-solving Skills? What role should the student have in their learning? Interested in disturbing traditional lecture-based delivery? Subscribe now to join our discussions"
We would be grateful to hear your opinions
Tracy
