We use the Roche LIAT analysers (x7) across x3 sites. We have interfaced them to Cobas IT1000, LIMS and the infection control IT notification systems.

Thanks for the reply Yusuf. We will be looking at interfacing as well. I'll discuss tagging the POCT results with microbiology.

Hi Tony,
Last season we entered all requests manually in LIMS with a request item specific to POCT, so it is easy to see which is which (Lab or POCT).
This year we will be resulting directly from the analyser (ID Now / Alere-i) to LIMS via AegisPOC. Anyone already doing this?

Further to the earlier post today about reporting of outcomes to PHE our microbiology lab has confirmed that results generated through use of our POCT solution will be reported through our LIS system. Outcomes will be reported through our normal laboratory reporting structure.
We are using a lab grade analyser in a non-lab setting with non-lab staff processing samples. SOPs, training and competency, IQC and EQA has full oversight of the microbiology lab and our POCT team.
Are any of you doing a similar thing in terms of entering the results in the LIS. If so how do you differentiate which tests are generated at the point of care and which from the lab? Do you append a comment, automatically or free text to each POCT generated result?
This service is a true hybrid system and not traditional POCT so I'd like to get your take on it.
Regards
Tony
