University Centre Peterborough is looking to recruit an external examiner for its recently validated FdSc / BSc (Honours) Biological Sciences.
UCP offer a range of undergraduate degrees validated through Anglia Ruskin University. More information on the course can be found at www.ucp.ac.uk
The University Centre requires External Examiners to be currently employed by an HE institution with relevant subject expertise and have experience of quality review processes. As an EE you would be expected to attend the Module Assessment Panels (MAP). These take paces three times a year. For 2019/20 academic year they will be in the week commencing 20 January 2020, 1 June 2020 and 24 August 2020.
Only level 5 and 6 assessments require EE moderation so this will not be needed until 2020/21. However, moderation of sample scripts will be required next academic year on the day of each MAP, prior to the formal meeting. Once a year you would also be required to submit a written report to identify good practice and/or areas for improvement. On receipt of the report you would receive £700 from the University. Travel expenses would also be reimbursed.
The successful applicant would be appointed for a period of 4 years.
If interested, please reply with a current CV detailing your relevant academic experience, external examiner and other quality assurance experience to Zoe Rumball, Academic Officer ([log in to unmask]). We are looking for the successful candidates to start as soon as possible.
