Edinburgh Napier's 5th Annual Electric Vehicle Event is taking place on Wednesday 9th October 2019 at the Rivers Suite and Chapel, Craiglockhart Campus.
Michael Matheson MSP, Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure and Connectivity has confirmed that he will give the keynote address. Andy Robinson, Head of ULEV delivery from Transport Scotland will also speak at the event and we are grateful to Transport Scotland for their continued support.
The themes for this year are:
• Electric 2/3 wheelers
• Policy issues and practice
• New developments
We have confirmed speakers from:
• Björn Hasselgren, Senior Advisor at the Swedish Transport Administration Trafikverket, Sweden who will speak about the electric road programme
• Ellie Grebenik, Senior Programme Manager – Scottish Transport, Energy Saving Trust on the e-bike grant fund scheme
• James McKemey, Head of Insights, PodPoint, the UK’s leading provider of electric vehicle charging
• Adam Reid, Peddlesmart
• Dr Jonathan Cowie, Edinburgh Napier University on the SURFLOGH project
• Keith Watson, Alexander Dennis – ‘Electrification of bus’
• Jim Blair, Operations Manager, Arnold Clark – ‘A practical view of Electric vehicles’
• Colin Cochrane, Edinburgh Napier University student talking about his research on “Design of a Solar Sourced, Electrically Powered Rickshaw, for use in India”
• Keith Alcock, Edinburgh Napier University student talking about his research on “The thermal management of Lithium-ion batteries using foam material”
There will also be vehicles and exhibition stands on display. Kia will showcase the e-Niro which was awarded car of the year and we will have a fully electric double decker bus. SWARCO, Peddlesmart, Electric Cycle Company, EVA Scotland and Co-Wheels Car Club have confirmed they will have stands.
