Hello- I hope you won't mind giving me a bit of help, forwarding this
message to your network. I'm running a survey monkey survey (link
above) for a global stocktake of activity in museums (meaning museums,
museum networks and sector support organisations) relating to climate
change, in terms of public education, training of staff, public
awareness, public participation, public access to information and
co-operation across the sector and with other sectors. These are the 6
elements of something called the Doha Work Programme, which is related
to the Paris Agreement (2015). Next year, the Doha Work Programme will
be reviewed to set the direction for the next 5 or 10 years
(probably). I'm involved in making a submission to that review, and am
looking for everyone who has done any activity linked to the above
areas to share their information via the survey, in order to :

1. Raise awareness of the Doha Work Programme and Action for Climate
Empowerment among museums so that
2. Museums and their partners are more empowered to connect their work
with its aims, for mutual and collective benefit, and
3. To gather information that can contribute to a submission to the
review of the Doha Work Programme, to be submitted by February 2020,
so that
4. Countries (signatories of the Paris Agreement) who set the future
work programme are aware of the potential and contribution of museums
to Action for Climate Empowerment

Activities can be included if they've covered climate change in any (I
mean any!) way, and this isn't only for exhibitions or events that are
mainly about climate change.

More information can be found here:

https://curatingtomorrow236646048.wordpress.com/2019/09/19/survey-how-have-museums-contributed-to-the-paris-climate-agreement-from-2016-19/

This follows on from museums' inclusion in the formal Workplan for the
Paris Agreement, which was agreed last year.

This is a chance for everyone to share their work with the United
Nations for individual and collective benefit, and only takes about 10
minutes. The bigger the numbers, and the more museums and networks
take part, the better. Please also share this with your colleagues and
networks.

Also for your interest, I've put together a free guide for museums on
the sustainable development goals, available here:

https://curatingtomorrow236646048.wordpress.com/2019/08/21/how-can-museums-support-the-sustainable-development-goals/

Thanks in advance.
Yours,
Henry
