The Lifespan Cognitive and Motor Neuroimaging Laboratory at Texas A&M University
directed by Dr. Jessica Bernard (she/her/hers) is seeking a full-time laboratory manager
to direct a new federally-funded project. The lab investigates the cerebellum and other
brain regions with respect to aging and the development of psychosis. Methods used by
the lab include brain imaging (functional and structural), non-invasive brain stimulation,
assessment of balance, behavioral assessments of cognition, and questionnaires. The
new project in question will investigate longitudinal changes in cerebellar structure and
networks in the context of behavior and menopause. The lab manager will help with the
every-day operations associated with the project, and will work directly with Dr. Bernard
to help recruit and schedule participants, collect and analyze data, and train and manage
undergraduates working in the laboratory through the Department of Psychological and
Brain Sciences. The individual may also be asked to aid with the preparation of materials
for the institutional review board (annual reviews), and with other tasks that occasionally
arise related to the workings of the lab. Given the diverse age range of participants that
come through the laboratory (adults and older adults from the community between 30
and 90+ years of age), the applicant should be comfortable interacting with a wide range
of populations. The lab manager will gain hands on experience in all aspects of the
research, and there may be opportunities to co-author publications or presentations at
national research meetings. For questions, please email [log in to unmask]
