Dear Ethnolinguistics & Affiliates,
I’m working on a short documentary investigating the notion of “feeling different” when communicating in a different language.
I’m interested in understanding how some people report changes in personality traits, behaviours and voice when switching languages, while others don’t. Are there specific personality traits (some suggesting extroversion and openness), which make some feeling different? I’m not looking at the bilingualism context, but at a more general multilingual experience.
I’ve read some studies from Wilson (2008), Pavlenko (2011) and Ozanska-Ponikwia 2006), Ellen Basso and materials from the Atelier Research Centre, but if someone out there can suggest any other publications I would highly appreciate.
Many thanks in advance for any help!
Kindest regards,
Lorenza Tuan
