Hello,
As discussed in the meeting we just had, a number of ARC sites are seeing APEL-Sync errors (like Oxford, [1] and to a lesser extent Sheffield[2]- although in the later it also looks like current publishing is broken).
Eagle-eyed Gareth noted that both sites are still running APEL boxes[3][4] - and thus could be a cause of the problem (or a way to work around something). If the sites don't need them for other services then they should be able to be removed (or set not in production/monitored, which would be more sensible in the short term) - remembering to keep the glite-APEL services active on your individual ARC CEs.
Whether or not this is a fix or simply sweeping any underlying issue beneath the rug of not-being-monitored-anymore is up to debate. Have I got the right end of the stick?
Cheers all,
Matt
