Dear colleagues,
The Refugee Law Initiative (RLI) at the University of London is seeking an outstanding researcher to conduct field and legal research for the RECAP (Research capacity building and knowledge generation to support preparedness and response to humanitarian crises and epidemics) project, which brings together leading international organisations to shape and improve humanitarian policies.
You can view the full details for the position here: https://www.jobs.london.ac.uk/DisplayJob.aspx?jobid=1504
RECAP is a four-year interdisciplinary research and capacity-building project to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of responses to humanitarian crises and epidemics. It is funded through Research Councils UK Collective Fund, which is part of the Global Challenges Research Fund (GCRF), and led by Professor Bayard Roberts of the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine.
The project is delivered by a network of UK and international academic research centres and humanitarian organisations working on health and protection in humanitarian settings, including armed conflict, natural disasters, forced migration, and epidemics. It delivers interdisciplinary research to inform and strengthen the decision-making and accountability of humanitarian agencies in acute and protracted crises. The project also delivers research training and capacity-building, and develop a new network of regional hubs of research excellence in the UK, and locations such as Sierra Leone and Lebanon.
RECAP contributes to the development of humanitarian guidelines, programmes and policies, in order to improve health, protection and broader development outcomes for crisis-affected populations. The RLI is a key partner in the RECAP project, and leads research on protection and accountability.
Applications are due Wednesday 29 September 2019. Please click the link above for full details.
