Role: Archive Assistant, full time, permanent
Location: West Yorkshire Archive Service, Leeds
A vacancy has opened up at the Leeds office of the West Yorkshire Archive Service and we are looking to recruit a full time, permanent, Archive Assistant to join our small team based in Morley.
The role involves supervising a busy public search room, answering enquiries, retrieving archival documents from stores, working on income generating services including our Research Service, undertaking copying of historic documents, sorting and listing of archive material and participating in outreach activities on behalf of the service.
To apply, you'll need a knowledge of relevant ICT systems, administrative experience and 4 GCSE passes (Grade A, B or C) or equivalent, including English and a numeracy based subject. A knowledge of how archive services operate and of local history would be an advantage and you will need to possess a level of fitness to enable you to fulfil the physical aspects of the role.
