Symposium: Teaching anatomy from classical to modern times
Dates: Friday 26th and Saturday 27th June 2020
Venue: Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh
This is the first announcement about a symposium to be hosted by The Scottish Society of the History of Medicine with the British Society for the History of Medicine.
The symposium will explore the history of anatomy and anatomy teaching.
Presentations will cover the ways in which anatomical knowledge has been acquired,
portrayed and taught and how this has influenced the development of surgery.
The programme will cover a range of perspectives including historical, social, cultural
and modern innovations.
